Weekly Review — Week of 2026-05-25

Moved Forward

iOS Toggle Onboarding Project — CLOSED

Discord Incident Postmortem — CLOSED

New project kicked off + PRs in flight

PR merged

Rotation completed

Tech Designs

  • No TD authored, approved, or LGTM'd this week. Several active in the workspace (VPN leak detection, monthly pixels, OS support pixels, Wallet Pass links) — Alex is observer, no review actions taken.

🔄 Didn't Move

Stalled items (no activity in 7+ days, not parked in do_later/quick_wins):

Likely cause: energy this week was concentrated on closing out the toggle experiment + Discord postmortem + kicking off the new onboarding conflicts project. Stalled items are mostly low-priority follow-ups or items needing a 5-minute close.

🔗 Open Loops Carrying Forward

Ship Reviews in progress — None open. Last Ship Review (Demo tracker blocking after chat) completed May 20. Treatment B ship is the upcoming candidate but needs the iPhone-only / returning-users scoping question resolved first.

Tech Designs awaiting Alex's re-review — None. Alex authored no TDs this week.

Delegated tasks overdue (need follow-up):

Incidents without postmortem — None pending. Discord postmortem closed May 28.

Active open decisions (Treatment B ship):

  • Scope question — Costas says iPhone-only as planned; Alessandro flagged that shipping Treatment B while demo tracker experiment is still running may not be feasible. Decision needed before PR can ship.
  • Returning users — should the new onboarding screen be shown to returning users or only new users? Question posted, no resolution yet.

Open inbox-section work for next week:

📅 Next Week Setup

TP Suggestion: iOS Address onboarding conflicts with unified input and ship AI onboarding winner (already set May 25, due Jun 5).

  • Reasoning: this is the active critical-path project. 3 PRs in flight, kick-off complete, scope confirmed. Next week is the ship window — resolve the iPad/returning-users scoping question with Costas + Alessandro, get Treatment B through Ship Review, and merge the supporting PRs (Hide Free plan, Hide stop chat). Treatment B ship is the milestone.

Rotation: macOS App Maintenance — due Jun 5 (Friday next week). Prep: check the macOS maintenance playbook on Monday, watch for incoming issues in your AOR.

OOO / coverage watch:

  • Dominik (career advisor): AFK today (May 29), AFK Jun 13 (LDX3 conference), AFK Jun 45 (public holiday) → effectively out for the entire week. No 1:1 this week unless rescheduled.
  • Heavy EU absence Jun 13 for LDX3 26 in London: Dominik, Lorenzo, Sabrina, Pete, Fernando, Elle. Plan async-first for those days; avoid scheduling reviews from EU folks.
  • Costas + Alessandro (project advisors for current TP) — check their AFK status; if either is out during ship week, accelerate decisions before they leave.
  • Own AFK: Partly AFK Jun 812 for WWDC 26 → next week is the last full focus week before WWDC.

1:1 with Dominik:

  • Last 1:1 was May 26 (Tuesday). Next is expected the following Tuesday (Jun 2) — but Dominik is AFK Jun 13. Likely no 1:1 next week; expect Jun 9 or later.
  • Agenda items to capture for next 1:1:
    • Closed: iOS Toggle project — wrap-up done.
    • Active: Onboarding conflicts project — discuss ship readiness for Treatment B and the iPad/returning-users scoping debate.
    • Discord incident postmortem closed; flag the O-T project (Keagan mentioned) as a longer-term follow-up.
    • WWDC plans (Jun 812 partly AFK).

🏆 Wins

  1. Closed the iOS Toggle Onboarding project end-to-endproject wrap-up with full A/B/N narrative, postmortem done, winning treatment identified for ship. Clean close.
  2. Led the Discord incident postmortem with explicit recognitionpostmortem closed with two thank-yous in the thread (Jeanna called the work "thorough"; Jonathan acknowledged concrete follow-ups). Action items captured, GDPR request filed, follow-up scheduled.
  3. Hit the ground running on the new onboarding-conflicts projectkick-off completed Tuesday, 3 PRs up by Thursday, scope confirmed with reviewers. Strong execution velocity into the ship week.
