Weekly Review — Week of April 11, 2026

Moved Forward

iOS Toggle Screen (O-N TP) — shipped The biggest move of the week. The Ship Review for [iOS] Introduce a new screen that allows usage of the toggle with Search or Duck.ai set as the default toggle state was completed on Apr 14. PR merged the same day, confirmed getting to internal release. Public release and experiment data collection starts Apr 20. Two follow-ups were logged: Inline Text Images support for TypingTextAnimation and restoring onboarding state for the non-experiment flow. Alex posted a full status on Apr 14 and set the next TP to iOS: Demo tracker blocking after chat in onboarding (kick-off Apr 21).

iOS 7.216.0 Release Process Exception — closed Assigned Apr 15, handled same day. Fix was a one-character change in a NotLocalizedString constant — zero risk. Alex delegated to Bartek (at meetup) for approval, received "Excellent 🚀" from Bartek and sign-off from Pete. Alex marked complete Apr 16.

PR: content-scope-scripts 🔴 [major] 13.41.0 → 14.0.0 (apple-browsers) — merged Completed Apr 14. Major version bump landed on the macOS release board. (Note: this merge caused a CI failure that's now open — see Open Loops.)

Quick Wins Days (Apr 1517) — participated This was a company-wide QWD week. Alex picked up QWD: Agentic macOS UI tests virtualization as his QWD task (due today) alongside the broader QWD sprint. AOR update action also in flight today.

No Ship Reviews open. None active going into next week — clean slate.

No Tech Designs with LGTM this week. None in the DB.

🔄 Didn't Move

[OVERDUE +8d] PR Check is failing on main — testWhenTabWithConnectionLostErrorActivatedAndReloadFailsAgain_errorPageIsShownOnce (due Apr 9) Sam S flagged this Apr 8 as a likely flaky test caused by unreliable CI runner internet. Assigned to Alex with a direct ask to investigate. Two automated overdue reminders since. No response or investigation yet. Why stalled: Coincided with iOS toggle crunch, then QWD week. Next step: Investigate the test failure; if confirmed flaky, mark it as such and update the task. Reply to Sam.

[OVERDUE +2d] PR Check is failing on main (due Apr 15) Alessandro assigned Apr 15: integration test crashing with "Fatal error: The test is causing a real navigation action" after the CSS 14.0.0 merge. Alessandro explicitly tagged Alex. Automated overdue reminder triggered yesterday. Why stalled: Assigned during QWD — likely deprioritized. Next step: Investigate the fatal navigation error in the integration test. This is the more urgent of the two CI tasks.

[OVERDUE +10d] Design Review: Blinking Address Bar (due Apr 7) Self-assigned Apr 6 as a subtask of the Ship Review. Now that the Ship Review is complete, it's unclear if this is still needed. Next step: Verify if this review is still required post-ship or close as resolved-with-parent.

[STALLED] FE <> iOS Sync (macOS Release Board, top_priority section, no due date) Last modified Mar 19 — nearly 4 weeks of no activity. Sitting in top_priority section. Next step: Assess relevance. Is this still blocking anything? If not, move to backlog or close.

[STALLED] Follow-up: add support of Inline Text Images to TypingTextAnimation (macOS Release Board) Added Apr 14 as a post-ship follow-up. No due date set, no activity since creation. Next step: Set a due date or schedule for next week.

🔗 Open Loops Carrying Forward

Ship Reviews in progress — None. Clean.

Tech Designs awaiting re-review — None visible.

Delegated tasks overdue

  • assertionFailure when DBP url is opened — delegated to Anh Do, due Dec 12 2025. No activity in months. Either confirm status with Anh or close/archive.

Incidents without postmortem — None visible.

PFRs awaiting decision summary — None visible.

CI failures carrying over: Two open CI tasks (see Didn't Move) carry into next week. Both are OVERDUE and have explicit asks from teammates. These need to be resolved, not just acknowledged.

Pinned tab opens link in background tab — assigned by Alessandro Apr 13 with a re-assign offer if capacity is tight. Due today. No action taken yet during QWD.

Text selection in the address bar doesn't work as standard — assigned Apr 16 by Alessandro (coverage for someone OOO). Due Apr 22. New this week, needs triage action next week.

📅 Next Week Setup

TP Suggestion: iOS: Demo tracker blocking after chat in onboarding (1213551050320249) Alex already declared this publicly on Apr 14 (next TP post) and shifted the start to Apr 20. Kick-off is set for Apr 21 (O-N meeting). Dominik's reaction confirmed. This is the right call — the toggle work shipped, experiment data collection starts independently, and the next O-N project needs DRI momentum.

Rotation: None active or starting. No rotation tasks in DB.

OOO watch:

  • Dominik AFK through Apr 20 (Apple Meetup) — back in time for the 1:1 on Apr 21 ✓
  • Pete v.B. AFK through Apr 21 — not back until Wed Apr 22
  • Android Functional Meetup cohort (Domen, Youssef, Elle, Jorge, Cristian, Cris B, Lukasz, Catalin, Gerard) OOO Apr 2024 — minimal impact on Alex's iOS/macOS work
  • David G. back Apr 20 after Easter holidays

1:1 with Dominik — Tuesday Apr 21 Agenda is already well-prepared. Key items pre-loaded:

  • TP transition: iOS toggle shipped → next TP is Demo tracker blocking (kick-off same day)
  • macOS browser App State Machine (ongoing)
  • Focus areas & career coaching
  • OOO May 18 planning

Nothing new to add from this week specifically — the main TP story is clean and positive.

🏆 Wins

  1. Shipped the iOS Toggle Screen (O-N TP) end-to-end. Ship Review completed, PR merged, internal release same day, public experiment live Apr 20. This was the primary TP for multiple weeks and it crossed the finish line cleanly — including proactive status updates and two follow-ups logged before anyone asked.

  2. iOS 7.216.0 Release Exception resolved in < 24h. Received the assignment mid-afternoon Apr 15, delegated the fix to the right person, got multi-party approval, and closed it by Apr 16. Fast turnaround on a release blocker.

  3. Clean TP hand-off into next week. Alex posted the next TP publicly on Apr 14, explained the rationale (QWD week + meetup), shifted the start date deliberately to Apr 20, and set up the kick-off. No ambiguity about what's next.
